At our centre, we tests patients for various hormones circulating in the bodies tissues. Hormones have various functions in our body. Most of bodily functions are regulated by hormones. For example there is a hormone that is involved with how we respond to stress. It is called Cortisol. Some people refer to it as the flight or flight hormone. When we are stressed by daily life activities, our bodies produce very significant amounts to help us manage our stress. It happens that we live in a very stressful world, so instead of this hormones just responding to immediate stress and getting back to normal levels, this, most of the time never happens due to our constant stress. As a direct consequence, it contributes to many of the Chronic Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs) like Diabetes, Hypertension, Autoimmune Thyroid diseases, Breast Cancer, Prostate Cancer, Rheumatoid Arthritis and many more diseases that we experience today.
At Esbecan Medical Centre, we can help you do your hormones tests in your saliva, which is one of the most accurate means of testing it.
The other hormones of importance are male and female hormones. Their functions make us who we are. Men have male features because of the dominant male hormone called Testosterone and women have female features (breast, hips, curves, soft voice, etc ) because of the dominant females hormones Oestrogen and Progesterone. Men have very small amounts of females hormones and women also have small amounts of male hormones.
Under normal circumstances, we need to have these hormones in balance. When they get out balance, then serious diseases will ensue. In the case of women, when Oestrogen goes high without opposing progesterone, there is a high risk for Breast, Ovarian, Uterus and Cervical Cancers. High oestrogen level is also responsible for diseases like fibroids, endometriosis, irregular menses, pre menstrual symptoms and many female medical complaints.
To help minimise your chances of developing Breast, Ovarian, Uterus and Cervical Cancers, it is very important that you know your hormone levels. By knowing your levels, if they are out of balance, we will help you balance them with natural substances and by so doing minimise your chances of developing the aforementioned cancers. So it is critical to know your hormones levels !
The other groups of persons that we will advise to know their hormone levels are Premenopausal and Menopausal women. In other words, women who are getting into menopause or already have menopause. These group of women have been made to believe that all the bad feelings and the hot flushes they experience is ok to experience them. We have good news for them; it is not ok to experience them. We can help you overcome those problems. All you need to do, is to test your hormone levels and if they are out of balance, we will help you balance them. Once you have your hormones balanced, all those hot flushes and bad feelings would be a thing of the past.Isn’t that great?
For Our Men
Men also need to know their hormone levels, especially TESTOSTERONE and Oestrogen levels. It turns out that as we age as men our testosterone levels drop, so all the functions that we used to perform as young men also drop. We loose our muscle mass, bone minerals, our sexual performance, our libido, as a direct consequence of the drop in our testosterone levels. In additions to that, oestrogen levels can get high as our bodies turn fat into oestrogen and also due to our exposure to environmental pollutants like plastics, pesticides etc. This rise in oestrogen and our exposure to heavy metals especially arsenic, are contributing factors to developing Prostate Cancer.
It is therefore important to know your hormone levels and test for your heavy metal load. The good news is that at the Esbecan Medical Centre, we can help you with the testing and also with the managing the results. If the test results reveal that you have heavy metals in your body, we will help you detoxify. If your testosterone level is low, we will help you raise your levels and by so doing reccover your youthful moments again. Isn’t that great?
